T.Y Golf Experience
We left the school at 12:45 and got on the bus heading to Collon pitch and putt club arriving there around 1 o’clock. In the clubhouse we sorted out the left and right handed people with their clubs. We went out onto the course where it was very damp and it was a steeply hilled course and since it was damp we had to be careful climbing and descending the range but as you can see from attached photo I won the ' play pitch and putt like a fish award'. The class was split into 1 group of 4 (lefty’s) see attached photo one group of 3 and 7 groups of 2. I was in the group of 3.
So everyone started at two holes away from each other so it wouldn’t take long waiting for others my group started at hole 3 and worked our way around the course where difficult for us as we were beginners bar the odd few in the class who had played golf before. Since the course was steeply hilled it was hard to judge distance considering the beginners were hitting the balls either too far like over a fence or onto a road or hitting them to short like into a pond with a fake duck. The uphill shots were difficult because when you hit it to powerful it would catch above the hole or if you would hit it to short it would roll back down the hill.
Only 1 group made it the whole way around the course and at the beginning we agreed that the group to make it around with the best score would be the winner. So the only team to make it around are the winners. So Congratulations to Niamh McGovern and Claire Carron our winners.
