The Junior Certificate

The Junior Certificate is a three year programme. First year students in Scoil Uí Mhuirí take twelve academic subjects thus offering them a wide range of subjects. Students choose their four option subjects after they have had an opportunity to sample all optional subjects from August – October each year. This process should ensure that students choose those subjects in which they are most likely to succeed. First Year students in Scoil Uí Mhuirí also engage in two periods of ICT each week as part of the school’s commitment to ensuring that students have the ICT skills necessary to make the best use of the technology available to them in the school during their five/six years in Scoil Uí Mhuirí.
